“They saw their injured country's woe;
The flaming town, the wasted field;
Then rushed to meet the insulting foe;
They took the spear, - but left the shield.”

Old Paradigms Made New Again? On the Dirac Sea
Floating on the Edge of the Sea...
...Lifeguards (from Asgard?) to Save You from Drowning Under the Sea's Surface
But, to got that, to became that "people of the Future" ourself... we need to became SMARTER.
But you, do not want that. Because of phony instinctive fear of "loosing oneself".
But, you "loosing oneself" evry minute every day -- old cell die, new cells appear... in your body. And ONLY definite thing you can do with it -- follow Lessing's son example. And state in your testament that you wanna mumification. And tightly seald grave -- for atoms of "the you"... to never ever leave you. For your "identity", to not change.
...and as stated in my most recent post, "Identity is Non-Essential". I'm profilically changing it all the time (moving in and out of "social" roles... father... husband... employee... employer... consumer... producer).

Key Aspects of Diotima's Philosophy in The Symposium The Ladder of Love (Ascent): Diotima explains that true love progresses in stages: from loving one body, to all beautiful bodies, to beautiful souls, to beautiful laws/customs, and finally to the contemplation of absolute Beauty itself.
Definition of Love: Contrary to other speakers, she defines love not as a god, but as a "daemon"—a spirit mediating between mortals and gods, perpetually desiring what it lacks.
Immortality: She teaches that love is the desire to give birth in beauty, allowing mortals to achieve a form of immortality through creating virtuous offspring, ideas, or wisdom.
Significance: She is the only female philosopher in Plato's dialogues, and her teachings represent a crucial shift in the Symposium from purely physical desire to philosophical, intellectual love.
"Philosophy is the translation of Eros into Logos" - Byung-Chul Han
"...and the desire and pursuit of the whole is called, "Love"" - Plato "Symposium" (Aristophanes' Speech)
ps - SMARTER" generally refers to practical application, quick wit, and learned knowledge, while "more intelligent" refers to raw, innate cognitive capability, deep understanding, and intellectual capacity. A SMARTER person acts effectively, while a more intelligent person grasps complex, abstract concepts.
PPS - Identity of others is non-essential. Identity of one's self represents one's very quintessence.
Quintessence refers to the purest, most perfect, or typical example of a quality or class, often representing the absolute essence of something. Originating from medieval philosophy as the "fifth element" (aether) beyond earth, air, fire, and water, it is also used in modern physics to describe a hypothetical form of dark energy driving the accelerating expansion of the universe.
It's the Identity of my social role BY others that is non-essential. I reject all their 2nd order observation of my identity in favour of my own (although I may give it some consideration based in my proximity to them socially when interacting with them)
In Book X of Plato's Laws (specifically around 893c–894c), the Athenian Stranger outlines ten types of motion to establish that soul is the ultimate source of all change. The 9th and 10th motions are defined as follows:
9th Motion: "That which moves other, and is changed by other". This represents motion that is imparted to a body by another body, representing a secondary, dependent form of movement.
10th Motion: "That which changes itself and others, and is co-incident with every action and every passion, and is the true principle of change and motion in all that is". This is the self-motion of the soul, which Plato identifies as the primary cause of all other motions.
Andrei Tarkovsky - “We can express our feelings regarding the world around us either by poetic or by descriptive means... I prefer to express myself metaphorically. Let me stress: metaphorically, not symbolically. A symbol contains within itself a definite meaning, certain intellectual formula, while metaphor is an image. An image possessing the same distinguishing features as the world it represents. An image — as opposed to a symbol — is indefinite in meaning. One cannot speak of the infinite world by applying tools that are definite and finite. We can analyse the formula that constitutes a symbol, while metaphor "

Europe has the guilt-pride spirit problem too. So it really IS your problem. The eternal debt one owes if/when seeking "forgiveness". La Clemenza di Tito. Uno per volto, per carita!
One can almost hear Tito complaining: ‘‘Uno per volta, per carita!’’ – ‘‘Please, not so fast, one after the other, in the line for mercy!’’ Living up to his task Tito forgets everyone, but those whom he pardons are condemned to remember forever:
Peter Sloterdijk (German philosopher) on Nietzsche...
The resentment of the conquered, the downtrodden, the vanquished, that is harnessed by the priestly class in order to provide fuel for a cult of vengeance, which is in Nietzsche's view, Christianity. Actual vengeance cannot be attained by an inferior party, so the inferior party creates a religion of forgiveness. You know, behind this lurks a moralistic hatred. The man who lives within such a cult of resentment will therefore experience a constant distress for which he needs the priest, who offers him relief by turning the resentment inward, creating guilt. The priest says, "Yes, someone is to blame for your suffering, my poor suffering sheep. You yourself are to blame for it." In this way resentment, and its psychological Offspring, guilt, or as Nietzsche calls it "the bad conscience" become infused into every aspect of human life. These feelings are not acted, they are felt. That is sort of a layout of how the the dynamics that play out in "The Genealogy of Morals".
Why is immigration such a problem for Europe? Post-Colonialism (guilt).
And before this we had have Newtonian Time and Space. Yawn. Universe is Neverending and Time is... from Days of Creation.
ReplyDeleteI presume that people of the Future (if there'll be ones, and not cavemen again) will be appaled by such misconception.
Modern physics just forgot what Physics is about. And what is Model. And what is Modeled.
For me as programmer it is more than apparent -- what my program SHOWS is not what it is UNDER THE HOOD.
Quite possible that with our Universe it'$ the same. ;^p
A Dirac Sea? ;)

Evr!
Exactly, as Diotima of Mantinea stated in Plato's "Symposium"... 'Immortality and Everlasting Possession of the Good'
