Tesla - Profiles in Coolness

  1. I know we
re supposed to be susocius of Tesla, but I frankly love the IDEA of pioneering research attempting to find better, cleaner, more efficient ways to cart ourseves round, etc.

I generally hate modernity, becase it's to indiscriminate about what it embraces –– sort of like letting weeds, little clods of earth, a few roaches, and a worm or two get into the stewpot, but I am NOT a Luddite.

If the Luddite mentality had prevailed, we'd still be swining from tree o tree, or living in caves, or trying to wrest a living from an hospitable savannah and drinking mudy water somewhere with all the OTHER animals.

So, I wish Tesla every success, IF his efforts are honest, and not merely driven by a lust for power and acclaim.

  2. I have now, thanks.

...and I'm not very familiar with Tesla's bio, so I couldn't tell you how accurate this depiction is. I just enjoy the subject matter. :)

  3. IN HONOR OF MOTHER'S DAY, tODAY, SUNDAY MAY 12, 2019

    _____ A Mother’s Prayer _____
    _
Ask me not to tell it’s all right to
Make yourself a slave to vice and sin,
Or ignorance and laziness –– the blight to
    Talent’s promise of fulfillment in
    Hell of impotent inertia keeps
Each child of God who all not work.
Rising n my breast desire leaps
Savagely in prayer that those who lurk
Preying in the shadows n our youth
Realize no hol n you, my child.
Ardently I pray you’ll love the Truth,
Yearn for the sublime and undefiled.
Earning freedom is a mighty task.
Reach for that, my child, it’s all I ask.

  4. A VIEW OF MOTHERHOOD FROM A WAYWARD DAUGHTER

    _________ FULFILLMENT _________

For this my mother wrapped me warm,
And called me home against the storm,
And coaxed my infant nights to quiet,
And gave me roughage in my diet,
And tucked me in my bed at eight,
And clipped my hair, and marked my weight,
And watched me as I sat and stood:
That I might grow to womanhood
To hear a whistle and drop my wits
And break my heart to clattering bits.

  5. Hope you're enjoying a respite from cares and woes somewhere in or near the Finger Lakes Region.

    Beautiful up there in summer.
