“They saw their injured country's woe;
The flaming town, the wasted field;
Then rushed to meet the insulting foe;
They took the spear, - but left the shield.”
You can choose to capitalize directly or indirectly (provided YOU are publically recognized as the original inventer/ innovator (such as how Elon capitalizes off his reputation/ fame).
\\What are your expectations for financial compensation? They intend to "capitalize" off it.
That depends on business model. But we still discussing idea in a nutshell. To rework it into business model viable -- I tryed frantikly... but my experience is not enough for that... it seems.

That idea is not invention... it seems. But more like paradigm shift -- how do you capitalize on paradigm shifts? ;-)
My neighbor in San Jose growing up two doors down got started in the mid 70's milling parts for 3M with a Cincinnati MC Mill in his garage. He grew that into a Tool & Die shop in an Industrial Park with over 100 employees. I used to spend my weekends running parts on one of his NC machines for $5/hr (off the books). My friend (his son) programmed the NC machines. And I remember when Apple went public in the 80's, his eagerness to try and participate in the IPO at $10/share. I was working for Bethlehem Steel in the San Francisco Shipyard at the time planning ship repair (USS Kansas City: AOR-3) schedules using punch cards and running them on an IBM 360 on a leased machine at McAuto (McDonald Douglas Automation) in downtown San Francisco.
I'd run the scheduling job, and then take the boxes of printouts back to the Shipyard and separate the copies and put them into binders for ourselves and the NAVY SUPSHIP customer. After the job was over, we used that schedule data to justify our $30m delay and disruption claim against them. They had inadvertently forced us to build the gun we later used to shoot them. :)
If there were a market for them, the market would be destroyed once the 1st paradigm shift happened, wouldn't it? At least unless each new paradigm served "the old market's" objective and thereby preserved itself.
OMG The capitalist discourse is evolution's paradigm! Universal Domination uber alles!
@Q - Ever hear of the "Breakthrough Junior Challenge" or the "Enterprise Breakthrough Challenge"?
ReplyDeleteBillionaires raiding the cradles of innovation?
ReplyDeleteWho needs an R&D/ Marketting staff when you can buy it's equivalent for half in "prize money"?
ReplyDelete\\@Q - Ever hear of the "Breakthrough Junior Challenge" or the "Enterprise Breakthrough Challenge"?
ReplyDeleteNaah.
You could sell all your tech ideas for the chance of compensation... it only has to be "popular". ;)
ReplyDelete...and be explained in an entertaining way.
ReplyDeleteDo you think my idea have THAT value? ;-P
ReplyDeleteTo you? Or to them?

ReplyDeleteI'm techy-techy... not busy-busy. :-(((
ReplyDeleteThen you should sell your tech to the highest bidder and thereby become less busy-busy and more live-y-live-y. Apple's Woz had Jobs. Get a Jobs.
ReplyDeleteps When Apple was just getting started, we (I lived in Silicon Valley) all admired Woz, NOT Jobs. A decade later, that all flipped.

ReplyDeleteAnd where is that market (stockexchange?) of paradigm shifts?
And where is that garden where Jobses froliking. ;-)

Steve Jobs was just a limited/ specialized intelligence cog in the Universal "machine".
ReplyDeleteEolution... it's not about domination only.
ReplyDeleteCo-dependence. Co-evlution. Symbiosis.
Well... there is such market -- all that business angels and incubators and coworking...
I just dunno how to accomodate my round thing to their square holes.
That's why I trying my cross-culture competence and experience... on you.
How shameful of me? (shy)
Nothing "shameful" about it. Sounds like "the hero's journey". Will it be a comedy, or a tragedy? Thesis:Anti-thesis::Synthesis?
ReplyDeleteYap.
