“They saw their injured country's woe;
The flaming town, the wasted field;
Then rushed to meet the insulting foe;
They took the spear, - but left the shield.”
None of this makes me want to laugh, but it doesn't make me feel like weeping either.
Not for a moment do I believe that The Donald could –– or would –– be our "Savior," but I will say this for him: At the very least HE IS NOT H. RODHAM CLINTON, and that alone would compel me to vote for him, if he turns out to be The Candidate.
When you have nothing to choose from but a field of fiends, it seems impossible not to pull the lever for the least unattractive among them.
If ever a country were ripe for the rule of a demagogue, it would have to be the United States of America as she is today.
When you've been consigned to live in hell, isn't it natural to try to move towards the coolest corner?

Yeah, FT, maybe he deserves a Nobel Peace for 'not-being-Clinton'?
ReplyDeleteI still contend that by summer, when Donald Trump's list of wins reads: Bankruptcy court, Wrestlemania, New Hampshire...
ReplyDeleteHe drops out and endorses Hillary.
An hour long movie just to make fun of, and demonize a Trump straw man? Really?
ReplyDelete...which reminds me, I need to get my tickets to go see, Killing Republicans, The Musical.
