Minor clarification: "Zizek is a huge name on the Europeal Left"... where he's revered and reviled in equal amounts!
His stance on Trump has been wildly distorted by quite a few European Leftists. Some Marxists I follow (like Richard Seymour e.g.) simply can't abide him.
So a "star" he may be but he;s far from universally accepted.
I'm aware of the general revulsion by some old-line Marxists.
btw - Did you watch the BBC documentary on "Hypernormalisation"? I love it when a "euphamism" replaces a "slam". I would have called it post-modern "Totalitarianism" arising from a "Society of Control" or "Fear of Daddy".
I posted the 2.45 hour video here. There's a ;ot of good stuff on neoliberalism and the "vacuity" of the Left's response. The stuff on Putin's Russia was pretty interesting though. It explains their "posturing" on the Wikileaks hack (Vladislav Surkov).
