  1. Far is ugly. Fat is gross.
Fat folk should be seen as dross––
    Slag heaps of humanity ––
    Rejected by society,

  3. ____ TOO FAT POLKA (1847) ____

Oh, I don't want her, you can have her
    She's too fat for me
    She's too fat for me
    She's too fat for me
I don't want her, you can have her,
    She's too fat for me
    She's too fat
    She's too fat
    She's too fat for me

    I get dizzy
    I get numbo
    When I'm dancing
    With my Jum-Jum-Jumbo

I don't want her, you can have her
    She's too fat for me
    She's too fat for me
    She's too fat for me
I don't want her, you can have her
    She's too fat for me
    She's too fat
    She's too fat
    She's too fat for me

Can she prance up a hill?
    No, no, no, no, no
    Can she dance a quadrille?
    No, no, no, no, no
Does she fit in your coupe?
    By herself she's a group
    Could she possibly
    Sit upon your knee?
    No, no, no

We don't want her, you can have her
    She's too fat for me
And she's too fat for me
But she's just right for me
We don't want her, you can have her
    She's too fat for me
    Yeah, she's too fat,
    Much too fat
But she's just right for me

    She's so charming
    And she's so winning
    But it's alarming
    When she goes in swimming

We don't want her, you can have her
    She's too fat for me
    She's too fat for me
But she's just right for me
So I sure want her, you can't have her
    She's just right for me
    But she's too fat!
    She's not too fat!
    She's just right for me!

    She's a twosome,
    She's a foursome
    If she'd lose some
I would like her more some

I don't want her, you can have her
    She's too fat for me
    She's too fat for me
    She's too fat for me
I don't want her you can have her
    She's too fat for me
    She's too fat
    Much too fat
    She's too fat for me
    Hey!

  4. WHOOPS! It was 1947 not 1847. SORRY!

And here's Arthur Godfrey singing the original version that tickled the hell out of me when I was six years old:

    Don't miss it!

  6. A Weight Watcher's Meeting, perhaps?

    ];^}>

You're considerably younger can I, so you can't remember the forties –– or CAN you?

It may still be played at "dances" for Senior Citizens and the like.

As a people we used to LOVE spoofing, satirizing and joking about EVERYTHING, no one ever DREAMED of taking "offense" till the SICK-sties marched in like an invading force and took ALL the fun and joy out of life.

... Humor's now lead; tenderness dead,
And all sense of style Is dissoved in a bile
Whose bitterness cannot be said. ...

We've been dying of TERMINAL EARNESTNESS ever since.

  7. Speaking of shameful LARDIES:

BOTH Rosie O'Donnell AND Roseanne Barr have been back in the news lately.

Oinker O'Donnell remains the same old stupid, nasty stinkpot she's always been.

Barr, however, is suddenly criticizing LEFTISTS for being to extreme.

    How about THAT, baseball fans?

Probably just a ploy to get attention on Has-Been Barr's part, but even so, it's good to see even a tiny chink break open in the Left's heavy armor.

  8. Lardo John Goodman, Roseanne Barr's TV husband for nine years, at ne tkme weighed about 400 lbs. Even so, he was considered "very sexy" by the ladies –– or so we were told. I wouldn't know.

John, now 65, has been married ony once –– an apparently successful union ––, however, I just read that he's had a terrible battle withl alcoholismm got severely depressed and lost interest in life –– for a while.

He did mangage to shed about 150 lbs, in a carefully monitored program of diet and exercise, and no longer qualifies as The Great l Blimpo.

Good for John. I always knda ,ied him, but never could understand hw he could tolerate that long association with Lardass Piggy Barr.

  9. Well, we certainly need to change our culture. It's become an O'Donnel-Barr cesspool.

  10. Indeed, but looking back I have to say I STILL regard Hattie McDaniel's MAMMY as one one of the most memorably endearing characters ever to grace the silver screen. Just saw GWTW for the zillionth time night before last, and as far as I'm concerned MAMMY stole the show –– all four hours of it. That scene where she finally let's "Mr. Rhett" know she likes and approves of him by lifting her skirt jst far enough to let him see she's wearing the rustling red taffetta petticoat he bought her is priceless –– beautiful and very funny at the same time –– no mean trick to pull off.

And MAMMY must have weighed at least 350 lbs.

Hattie McDaniel was not just "a credit to her race" she possessed a rare kind of comic GENIUS –– rare because it contained no trace of mockery, and always revealed MAMMY to be a loving, caring, incredibly sensible woman who proved herself to be the greatest source of strength in Miss Scarlett's family and throughout Scarlett's entire life.

I loved Kate Smith too way back in the day when she had an afternoon TV show, and THAT gal must have supported her enormous bosom with steel girders. BUT, she had a winning personality, and was highly regarded back in the day.

My Uncle Joe was a cellist. He played in pit orchestras for Vaudeville. He knew Kate Smith when she was just beginning her rise to fame. At the time she played The Palace, she not only SANG, she demnsgtrated great skill as TAP DANCER –– and she was just a big then as she was in later life. Uncle Joe was in thec orchestra, and always said "Kate was one helluva good hoofer."
