“They saw their injured country's woe;
The flaming town, the wasted field;
Then rushed to meet the insulting foe;
They took the spear, - but left the shield.”
Happy to learn he's got Lizzie Warren's number at least, but his low opinion of our President Trump DISQUALIFIES him from EVER being taken seriously on ANY issue EVER again. Despite his abundnt superficial charm, the man is, as I've long suspected, a morbidly verbose FOOL.

Funny, that's all I see when I see the name 'Franco/Freestink' blah blah blah blah.... The most boring person on the blogs and a total fake conservative.
When I really love someone, I can only show it by making aggressive and bad-taste remarks.

Liberal democracy –– as you know, in the old days, we were saying we want socialism with a human face. Today's left effectively offers global capitalism with a human face, more tolerance, more rights and so on. So the question is, is this enough or not? Here I remain a Marxist: I think not.

You could say, in a vulgar Freudian way, that I am the unhappy child who escapes into books. Even as a child, I was most happy being alone. This has not changed.

ReplyDeleteSorry! I've NEVER seen a person more desperately in need of a copious dose of THE most potent ANtiHISTAMINE available.

I have come to see Zizek as an EMPEROR who wears nothing but EXCESS VERBIAGE.
ReplyDeleteBut, he's so UNLIKE the usual grip, deadly serious, morbidly self-righteius advocates of Marxist ideology it's hard to beleve ill of him.
It might be easy to dismiss him as a demoagogic mountebank, but __ God help us all! –– I think it possible he could be SINCERE.
And that makes him all the more problematic, and probably a powerful threat to the not-so-Free World.
From the way he has obviously BEGUILED the student population, he qualifies as a veritable PIED PIPER.

ReplyDeleteCommunism will win.

One ancient adage whose truth endures:
ReplyDeleteWe learn more about Peter from what he says about Paul than we learn about Paul,
We are all foolish in our own, unique ways.
