  5. More related to the video... Reminds me of mereological nihilism.

  8. I like TIK's videos. He has one that is around 5 hours long on the same subject matter. Very methodical, somewhat repetitious takedown comparing class socialism (Marx) with race socialism (Hitler). I'd love to see his take on George Fitzhugh, but American history with slavery might be outside his wheelhouse.

  9. From what I've read of Lacan (which isn't much) someone did skim the topic of mereological nihilism as a part of Lacan's thinking (pun unintended) but I guess I don't quite grasp the "other parts." To me it seems like a mash-up of several disciplines within a framework that doesn't quite become seamless.

  11. I personally can't read or understand Lacan directly. I have to get the filtered version, through Zizek. There's a good store of it at Lacanian Ink, if you're ever so inclined.

  12. I'm getting an Immanuel Velikovsky vibe (doesn't know what he's talking about but talks about it anyway) from descriptions / critiques of Lacan's work. Chomsky calls him a "conscious charlatan." I suspect the draw is the same as Carl Sagan savaging Velikovsky... It created more Velikovsky readers than it should have.

  13. Chomsky would know a "conscious charlatan" when he saw one lol

  14. I think Lacan's problem was that he was just an asshole... didn't matter whether it was a professional or personal relationship, he was an asshole either way.
