What do Plant's Crave?

If YOU don't know, who does?

From now on, I'm going to Outsource all MY questions (and Intelligence) to Google with its' OpenSource AI 4o Assistant!  The "technology" that REALLY knows the answers.

...cuz it says that what plant's crave is "electrolytes"!

from Google Search of "What do plants crave?":
Plants need electrolytes, which are ionic compounds with high electrical conductivity. Plants use electrolytes for many purposes, including:
Ion exchange: Plants use ions like potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphate, nitrate, and chloride through cells.
Plant cell life: Plant cell life thrives in an aqueous environment with an ionic/electrolyte background.

...and Brawndo HAS what plant's crave.  It's GOT ELECTROLYTES!

What could go wrong?

You want the "appearance" of Enlightenment or the REAL THING?
Gnothi Seauton!

...or at least, 'Temet Nosce'

...else you ain't living in Reality.  You're living in a Hyper-Reality.  The digital world of images and appearances (Simulacra)  that are "The Matrix".

  1. Plato, "Phaedrus"

SOCRATES: I have heard a tradition of the ancients, whether true or not they only know; although if we had found the truth ourselves, do you think that we should care much about the opinions of men?

PHAEDRUS: Your question needs no answer; but I wish that you would tell me what you say that you have heard.

SOCRATES: At the Egyptian city of Naucratis, there was a famous old god, whose name was Theuth; the bird which is called the Ibis is sacred to him, and he was the inventor of many arts, such as arithmetic and calculation and geometry and astronomy and draughts and dice, but his great discovery was the use of letters. Now in those days the god Thamus was the king of the whole country of Egypt; and he dwelt in that great city of Upper Egypt which the Hellenes call Egyptian Thebes, and the god himself is called by them Ammon. To him came Theuth and showed his inventions, desiring that the other Egyptians might be allowed to have the benefit of them; he enumerated them, and Thamus enquired about their several uses, and praised some of them and censured others, as he approved or disapproved of them. It would take a long time to repeat all that Thamus said to Theuth in praise or blame of the various arts. But when they came to letters, This, said Theuth, will make the Egyptians wiser and give them better memories; it is a specific both for the memory and for the wit. Thamus replied: O most ingenious Theuth, the parent or inventor of an art is not always the best judge of the utility or inutility of his own inventions to the users of them. And in this instance, you who are the father of letters, from a paternal love of your own children have been led to attribute to them a quality which they cannot have; for this discovery of yours will create forgetfulness in the learners' souls, because they will not use their memories; they will trust to the external written characters and not remember of themselves. The specific which you have discovered is an aid not to memory, but to reminiscence, and you give your disciples not truth, but only the semblance of truth; they will be hearers of many things and will have learned nothing; they will appear to be omniscient and will generally know nothing; they will be tiresome company, having the show of wisdom without the reality.

PHAEDRUS: Yes, Socrates, you can easily invent tales of Egypt, or of any other country.

SOCRATES: There was a tradition in the temple of Dodona that oaks first gave prophetic utterances. The men of old, unlike in their simplicity to young philosophy, deemed that if they heard the truth even from 'oak or rock,' it was enough for them; whereas you seem to consider not whether a thing is or is not true, but who the speaker is and from what country the tale comes.

PHAEDRUS: I acknowledge the justice of your rebuke; and I think that the Theban is right in his view about letters.

You added that. The Google AI did not say plants can be watered with a sports drink. Sports drinks are for humans, not plants. But, yes plants need electrolytes.

What is the pH of plant roots?
Most plants do well when the soil pH is between 6.2 and 6.8. pH is a measure of the acidity and alkalinity of a material. The pH range is 0 (extremely acid) to 14 (extremely alkaline) with 7 being neutral.
    ""

Means... NO, plants DO NOT like "electrolites". ;-P

    Like in batteries.

What is the pH of a battery?
In this context, battery acid has an acidic pH of 0.8. This is why it needs to be handled with caution. Lead-acid batteries are made of two conductive lead plates called electrodes, that are filled with a viscous gel-like substance.

  6. For the reference.

    7
Pure distilled water generally has a pH of 7, which means it's technically neutral on the pH scale. Substances with a pH below this are classed as an acid, whereas those with a pH above 7 are a base or alkali.

  31. Minus: So why does the AI say that plants crave "electrolytes" and not "water"?

It doesn't. That's another of your delusions.

    ME: Do plants crave electrolytes?

Google AI: Plants don't exactly "crave" anything, but they do need certain minerals to survive and function properly. Electrolytes, which are dissolved minerals that conduct electricity, fall into this category.

    Here's a breakdown:

Plants need electrolytes: Electrolytes come in the form of ions that plants absorb through their roots.expand_more These ions are crucial for various plant functions, like regulating water balance, conducting nerve impulses (similar to animals), and participating in photosynthesis.

Potassium is a key electrolyte for plants: One important plant electrolyte is potassium. It helps plants open and close their stomata (tiny pores on leaves for gas exchange) and is involved in other vital processes.

Balance is important: While electrolytes are necessary, too much of a good thing can be bad. Overfertilizing with electrolytes can harm plants.

So, to answer your question directly, plants don't crave electrolytes in the same way humans might crave sugary drinks. However, they do need specific electrolytes like potassium for healthy growth.

  85. On The Planet Charmidean
    On Charmidean, Poets resident
on that bucolic world directed their
    cunning and capable machinery---
    huge golems, small homunculi---to build,
in the great city, Coerulescence (where
no prejudice or hatefulness may thrive,
or even find the slightest of footholds),
    a huge colossus representing Troy's
most beautiful of all its lovely young
    men, Ganymede (his adolescence in
    full blossom), perfectly proportioned in
his limbs, slender, long haired (a full cascade
    of curls reaching almost down to his waist);
    naked, partly aroused---upon his face
a look of most exquisite pleasure (that,
one might conclude, was an effect of his
partial arousal), but his smile quite shy
(given to no pride and no arrogance),
his eyes sparkling and gazing toward the stars,
as he had done upon the highest tower
of Troy when Eros, looking out from his
    pavillion on Olympus noticed him---
and without hesitation fell in love,
    and made determination (at that hour;
he who was Aphrodite's son, wielding
profound romantic powers) that he should be
to Ganymede, lover, boyfriend, best friend,
    protector and encourager. Therefore,
this huge but intricate construction must
present the beauty that Eros perceived.

And thus instructed in all the details
required for the accomplishment of this
great task, the golems and homunculis
set to their work and spared no effort to
achieve the Poets' plan. Just look at it---
as sparkling and as pristine as the day
it was unveiled to be enjoyed by all.
    Around its pedestal---quite higher than
    certain municipal buildings could boast---
lilac and lavender, and next to them,
    ladslove (its common name appropriate)
    thrived, blooming thickest profusion and
scenting the air with exquisite fragrance.

  88. \\...and you the complete works of Plato.

    That... not needed.

As it already integrated into body of intelligence of today(through multitude of those who have read and used tidbits of it)or... it outdated. Lem's -- not.

Was Plato stating questions of artifical life? Authencity of his own?

  90. Well... most Lemesque USA writer I know is:

    In his smaller forms.

He able to nail something... I'd call concept here (like that your reference to Joice?).

I'll demonstrate with summary of one his small text.

It is short... so meaning hardly will be lost.

People was making "thinking machines". Smarter and smarter.

And every time... so happen to be... asked em same question "Is there God?".

To which, they obviously was not able to answer.

But at last -- biggest and smartest of it came out of prototype stage.

And was asked same question. And answer was "Now... IT is". ;-)

To what first reaction of the closest operator was... to make it break.

To which thunder and flash from the sky, which destroyed *first* god-fighter and closed enter to a control room...

Well,,, I do not think that being as smart as Lem's. ;-P

    But, who knows???

As that dude I read about importance of P=NP said -- "if P really equal NP... it might mean that Magic is possible". ;-)

  91. They know that its truth challenges, even threatens, all that is false, all that is phony, unnecessary, and trivial in the life they have let themselves be forced into living. They are afraid of dragons, because they are afraid of freedom.

  93. Spoken like a true capitalist, where the solution to every "need" is a product (as opposed to a re-evaluation of one's needs).

    ReplyDelete
  94. Technology -- that is just "a task... and methods of solving that task"(c) ;-)

  95. When our predecessors was roaming among Africa.

They was not capitalists. Neither commies. Or any other of miriads of misnomers civilization invented.

    Yawn.

But they... was surely technologist -- when they saw a problem, and was trying to solve it. ;-)

    Lindy!

We are clever monkeys... that trying to solve (their?) problems. ;-)

  96. That's what we always did... and I presume -- what we'll ever do.

Until... and when, we'd not -- we'll cease to exist. ;-P

  97. A monkey's needs are endless. And filling them all seem to be their preoccupation. We need to return to the tree's instead of trying to fight off every possible predator that dwells on the forest floor.

    ReplyDelete
  98. \\A monkey's needs are endless.

    Monkeys... prone to misconceptions.

Like calling themself "tribe of a bears". Or thinking being "children of Gawd". Or etc...

\\We need to return to the tree's instead of trying to fight...

If you'd be able to make your female to do that. ;-P

  104. Politically, Kafka sends us back to first principles. What is human subjectivity? What moral standing does the individual possessed of an inner life have in the face of tyranny or mechanized abjection? Granted that our fundamental rights are inalienable, what forces seek to alienate us from them? On what grounds do we guard our privacy—our dreams and aspirations, our cherished beliefs and disappointed hopes—from encroachment by an all-controlling state?

    ReplyDelete
  105. Whatever.

It oscillate between male and female political doctrines: paternalism and legalism.

Female -- paternalism. Because leaders are symbolically "fathers of nation" -- and that is female's view -- every she wants him to be father benevolent to here children.

Male -- legalism. Because leaders are symbolical "commanders of hunting party" -- and need to behave in accordance with some "rules", for that party to be successful and same time there'd be no party member unhappy, punished unlawfully or feel underplayed.

That doctrines -- cannot work simultaneously. Because they are opposite. Any strengthening of one, makes suffering to other.

That... china's philosophers devised more then 2000 years ago.

    Therefore Ying-Yang.

And therefore -- nothing and never will change. ;-P

As far as we are civilization of clever monkeys... that consist of males and females. ;-)

  106. By the way... their answeer was the same as your -- caritas. ;-)

That leader must a "noble man".

    But.

    Unsurprisingly.

They still was NOT able to make one.
