“They saw their injured country's woe;
The flaming town, the wasted field;
Then rushed to meet the insulting foe;
They took the spear, - but left the shield.”

April 1st Overture...
Still he's calling us out of our sleep
My friends, we're not alone
He waits in silence to lead us all home
A bit more endurable than most of your musical selections. I made myself listen all the way through. At least that was possible.
The piece maintains a mood of "expectation." I kept waiting for it to reach a particular destination, but it never does. We have no idea where the boat is headed or why.
The "singing," if we must call it that, is downright eerie, and ultimately abrasive. Why the falsetto? Why not get a good competent tenor or mezzo-soprano to sing, instead? The vocal lines, when they FINALLY arrived after a tedious, too-long introduction, have some genuine lyric merit. I think they deserve a better-equipped, more sensitive performer wit h a flair for the dramatic.
Altogether an incredibly STATIC musical experience. Very frustrating!
How you experience and what you get out of this section of my heterotopia is entirely up to you. I can't necessarily share my Dasein... as my identity differs from yours, regardless of the external 'sameness" of the spaces we may jointly, if not simultaneously, occupy. ;)
