Democrats & Republicans - Rejecting Common Knowledge

D: No he's not
Me: Here's the check receipt
D: The note says its' a loan repayment
Me ; Where's the loan paperwork?
D:  It was a verbal arrangement
Me:  So where's the interest payment?
D:  It was a no interest loan
...etc. etc. etc.
Common Knowledge avoidance.

  4. YET ONE reason why USA is not an empire.

Empire -- make all impoverished, while themself prosper.

You, it seems, making all around you empowered, while themself losing ground... because of believing some stupid BS (like that that globalization is not reason of your prosperity).

    Go figure!

    than some fan-boying stuff.

    Yawn.

  16. \\Lem vs Dick isn't fan-boy stuff?

  17. I like his strategy of keeping something between him and the drone.

As for the US Army, they won't be waving sticks... sticks are too cheap.

    ReplyDelete
  18. And Javelins... are too big.

Ah... I know, your soldiers will be wearing exo-skeletons, so they could wave with bigger boom-sticks. ;-P

Oh, no. For that they would need Li-ion batteries... and all Li is in china too.

  21. btw - Zizek argued for US and Western intervention in Ukraine today, "A LEFTIST PLEA FOR NEW IMPERIALIST INTERVENTIONS"

I don't repost things he publishes at his substack. You probably would have liked it, though.

    ReplyDelete
  22. What an attention seeker... yakk! ;-P

    ReplyDelete
  23. His substack is fun. Political messages are "free", philosophical/ psychological ones go behind the paywall.

  24. Whatever...

hardly he is open to dialog. Hardly anything good would come up out of it, anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  25. He's one of the most prolific writers on the planet. He's in a perpetual dialogue with the world.

  27. My picture-of-the-World are still incomplete.

So I seeking something I could close it with.

His -- complete. Closed. And inaccessible for revisions.

Like that code of Win XP. ;-P

    ReplyDelete
  28. And that is... neither good nor bad.

    That's just... c'est la vi.

Same as how Picture-Of-the-World of Lem are closed... and not accessible for revisions... anymore. :-((((

  29. Yes, we all have "limits" that define our character. And once we've reached these limits, change becomes ever harder to imagine. Death certainly forecloses all future opportunities for any particular person to grow, but it doesn't prevent others from picking up the ball and running with their thoughts, and taking them further.

Zizek is a mix of Hegel, Marx and Lacan. I see myself as a mix of Plato, Freud, Zizek and Han.

How you see yourself with Lem, et al...

  30. Philosophy strives to snap a picture of the world. You never get there. Its' a journey.

  31. \\And once we've reached these limits, change becomes ever harder to imagine.

    Naaah.

One just need to go out. Visit unusual places.

    Yawn.

But... we became agoraphobic... with time.

\\but it doesn't prevent others from picking up the ball and running with their thoughts, and taking them further.

Not in a way devised previously...

\\How you see yourself with Lem, et al...

    Non-how.

He is like a food to a cow.

To chew for as long as it'll be digested.

It's just... that is most tasty, richest, most persistent thing... maybe just so far.

\\Philosophy strives to snap a picture of the world. You never get there. Its' a journey.

    That's why I prefer technology.

Which can provide you wheels, and engine, and cosy sit... to make that journey most comfortable. ;-P
