Which Way, Eden?

We are stardust
We are golden
And we've got to get ourselves
Back to the garden
"For tribal man space was the uncontrollable mystery. For technological man it is time that occupies the same role."

“Neither need you tell me,” said Candide, “that we must take care of our garden.” “You are in the right,” said Pangloss; “for when man was put into the garden of Eden, it was with an intent to dress it: and this proves that man was not born to be idle.” “Work then without disputing,” said Martin; “it is the only way to render life supportable.” - Voltaire, "Candide"

I beg your pardon,
I never promises you a rose garden.

I've been preaching the idea for decades that the world would be a far better place if every one of us would just "tend his own garden," do his best to make it thrive and flourish, enjoy the fruits of his labors, and let others do as they will. In other words let the chips fall where they may.

I would dare to say that virtually ALL our troubles, save those we get from the elements, come from the errant desire too many have to mind OTHER people's business. This, of course, is the central flaw in all forms of leftist ideology.

Almost invariably those who dare to try to "save the word" wind up neglecting their families, their properties and lead untody, often dissolute personal lives that could only be described as "a shambles."

Have you any thought pro or con about the nomination of Brett Kavanau;gh to the highl bench, Thersites?

I'm not the least intterested in the barrage of mendacious, irresponsible negativity the Left is sure to throw at him, but I WOULD be interested in whatever initial impressions you –– or Farmer or Joe or Speedy, or even Mrs. Grundy–– may have at this time.

I'm sure that Brett Kavanaugh will do a fine job on the Court, Franco. Any justice not appointed by Democrats is a good appointment.

He's well qualified, too.

I hope you're correct, and I hope even more that he gets confirmed PRONTO!

When it comes right down to it I'll hope for ANYTHING that thwarts to Defecratz.
