The New Americans

He is almost filthier than
The twenty pigeons that he
Somehow has gathered enough
Scraps to feed.

Almighty to them.
Bringer Of Food.

"Parasites on a parasite!"

I think of gods. And parasites,
Picking laughs from
Their unjudgemental
Hands.

More echoes of The Threepenny Opera and Mohagonny in settings reminiscent of Gustav Doré!

Nothing jaunty, robust, in-your-face decadence.
