Zizek on the Interegnum Period in Imperial American History (1941+)
Funny! I've always found Zizek, –– his penchant for circumlocution and extreme prolixity notwithstanding ––, appealing on a personal level.
He –– like Bernie Sanders –– strikes me as a sincere, refreshingly candid, hyper-energetic person of good will.
However, the absolute INSANITY of the apparent political hopes and ideals espoused by these two men makes their potential influence on young impressionable minds and older muddleheads all seeking an "easy way out" is frankly APPALLING.
I believe we only differ in the "ends" game. He seeks an efficient state-directed utopia dominated by an intelligensia and not the market. I seek an in-efficient individually empowered market directed one.
He marries immigrants because they'll do the work Americans won't. ;)
Who'd want to have his babbies AND change their nappies, huh? A clearer example of immigrants doing useful work and relieving the state from costly burdens like childcare is hard to find!
Besides, he's got a yooooge nob. For some women that trumps everything.
