“They saw their injured country's woe;
The flaming town, the wasted field;
Then rushed to meet the insulting foe;
They took the spear, - but left the shield.”
―Philip Freneau

And by a prudent flight and cunning save A life which valour could not, from the grave. A better buckler I can soon regain, But who can get another life again?

From FT's review I was hoping for some wicked EDM with a sick bass drop.
Just a standard 4:4 rock song that wouldn't be out of place on an FM radio in the pre-guitar solo mid 1970s.
Reminds me of a tale my father (FT's age) recalls of silencing his father's criticism of the "repetitiveness" of the Beatles by popping on one of Papaw's Glen Miller Orchestra records and trying to find a song that wasn't repetitious.
Well, at least FT and Cornell West are on the same page...
“Look at the dumbed-down music. Look at the music about titillation and stimulation rather than caring and nurturing. Look at the music that doesn’t allow them to have a sweetness and a gentleness so that they are able to hold each other together,” he added. “And not only that but what Otis Redding talked about, try a little tenderness rather than say my name, say my name, say my name, say my name. Black people have taught the world, after 400 years of being hated, so much about love.”
Revolution in their minds the children start to march Against the world in which they have to live And all the hate that's in their hearts They're tired of being pushed around And told just what to do They'll fight the world until they've won And love comes flowing through, yeah Children of tomorrow live in the tears that fall today Will the sun rise up tomorrow bringing peace in any way? Must the world live in the shadow of atomic fear? Can they win the fight for peace or will they disappear, yeah So you children of the world Listen to what I say If you want a better place to live in Spread the words today Show the world that love is still alive you must be brave Or you children of today are children of the grave, yeah

More unmitigated DECADENCE and VULGARITY all of which sounds too LOUD and EXACTLY the same.

It's not MUSIC it's a DISEASE.

FT needs to expand his range ;)
Let's do the time warp again...
FT's a true Platonist. Changes to music and poetry are strictly Verbotten! ;)
Nah. I just think he allowed himself to become obsolete by age 14.
always recycle ;)
