“They saw their injured country's woe;
The flaming town, the wasted field;
Then rushed to meet the insulting foe;
They took the spear, - but left the shield.”
―Philip Freneau

Virus Maths, How Misleading Are It?
What a Single Death in Your Area can Tell You About the Possible Number Of People Infected
Without an understanding that TRUTH is objective, immutable and eternal, ALL humn endeavor is nohing but an exercise in futility.
This peculiar not in you seem to have that by making up NEW NAMES for ancient phenomena is somehow advancing the cause achieving Enlightenment, increasing the depth of Human understanding and expanding factual Knowledge is frankly preposterous.
You appear to be confusing –– or is it conflatng? –– a lot of poppycock, tosh and tarradiddle fabricated by militant atheists, chronic malcontents and garden variety mischiefmakers for GENUINE knowledge and substituting this BILGE for WISDOM.
I apologize for meeting hostility and sarcasm with more of the same. That's "respondng in kind." It's ungodly, and I should have remembered it never does anyone the tiniest bit of good.
Farmer enjoys epistemology. It's a lot harder (or at least, it requires more detail and fuss) to explain *why* you believe something than it is to simply state your beliefs, hence the apparent bilge. You prefer not to see the working, but to reveal only the finished product. Maybe it's the showman in you. But there's no need to deride one another for enjoying different things. If you're looking for the final answer and can't see it because it's obscured behind all this "irrelevent" epistemology, of course you find it frustrating. But equally, vice versa.
Now is not the time to alienate oneself -- I'm not even talking about the virus. In recent months I've been trying to find the positive in all my interactions and relationships in any case. A lot of what you don't like can be ignored. (sadly, or maybe it's valuable to discover or be reminded, the current events demonstrate the limit of that philosophy: after a point it really does matter what others think about things like immunity and social distancing etc.)
I hope you've noticed, though I doubt it, that I am advocating a strong revival of FAITH in ALMIGHTY GOD as the best possible ANTIDOTE to the predicament we find ourselves in right now.
Much is being made of Nancy Pelousy and the Defecrats' amittedly despicable, self-serving response to the Repubican initiaitve to 'put money in the pocket of every American earning less than 75K a year, and to Employers and Business Owners as well to enable them to keep their doors open and the mill wheels turning.
I read Siverfiddle's article, and found his observations perfectly sensible, as usual, but I've come to believe we need a more RADICAL approach to relieving the PARALYSIS in which our FEAR has placed us.
The Republican Proposal is NOT a SOLUTION to our problem. It's tantamlunt to putting bandaids on bullet wounds.
The proposed HANDOUT only serves to EXPAND GOVERNMENT POWER further, –– and even WORSE –– it encourage us, as a people, to invest MORE belief that GOVERNMENT has what it takes to SOLVE our problems.
I see that as falling right into the TRAP the proponents of Marxian Dialectics set more than a century ago.
Anyway, the goverment is BROKE. It has been for a long time, and it only has the power to print de facto COUNTERFEIT money. What possible good could come from continuing to promote belief in an ILLUSION based on materlialistic thinking?
Our "help" must come from God's Holy Word and from each of us –– as individuals –– to use whatever talents, strengths and intelligence we have to be as kind, helpful, encouraging and constructive as we can to our families, friends and neighbors.
The COLLECTIVIST ROUTE could in the long run only lead to further dissolution, depression, degeneracy and decay.
Be humane, be kind, be as generous as possible, and ACCEPT whatever comes with GRATITUDE for all the good you've experienced as a Child of God –– whether you choose to recognize it or not.
And Yes, i am PERFECTLY serious. };^)>
And as Tiny Tim would say, "God Bless Us, Every One."
Of course, Jez! I'd never deny that, but I maintain that SPIRIT, which is properly defined as the ANIMATNG FORCE in all life. makes it possible fo us to perform the tasks set before us with sharper focus, increased energy, possibly some INSPIRATION, and even a measure of JOY.
Faith is the thing that builds CONFIDENCE and affirms, refines ad revivifies our sense of PURPOSE.
You, as serious, individual who wants to contribute to the well-being of society, may be a great deal more attuned to the HOLY SPIRIT than you believe. ;-)

Considering the sheer volume of blame gaming/name shaming etc that's flying about, I think we can probably forget about the New Communism! ;-)
Yes, it's past time for a complete re-branding.
Mehdi Hasan has lost his marbles!
Is that his website? I thought he was a Moslem.
It's The Intercept, where he's a contributor.
He is a Muslim but not a particularly observant one.

I don't discount the vitality of your spiritual approach, but there are practical matters to attend to as well.
