“They saw their injured country's woe;
The flaming town, the wasted field;
Then rushed to meet the insulting foe;
They took the spear, - but left the shield.”

And by a prudent flight and cunning save A life which valour could not, from the grave. A better buckler I can soon regain, But who can get another life again?

Wow! The Nanny State really loves to over-protect her wards. Unless you had 6 tons of non-agricultural use fertilizer in your garage or packed in the back of a van, they should leave you alone. Besides, you create small amounts chemical products and sell them. How are you supposed to be able to continue to earn a living if they take away your raw materials? Otherwise, they're just punishing you just for knowing chemistry and to alleviate their own fears. Fear of "the other" strikes again. Big Brother? No, Big Nanny.
No, the shooting happened in Brooklyn, on the southern edge of the city. I live to the NE, and outside the beltway that encircles Baltimore (more suburban region of single family homes, not row homes like Brooklyn) and just outside the town of Bel Air. Brooklyn's more a marshy area on the edge of the Chesapeake Bay. Lots of small, relatively isolated areas. For 30 years I used to drive by Brooklyn daily on my way to work down in Greenbelt. Now I work from home.
ps - Maryland has very strict gun laws. This was most likely a shooting involving unregistered and unlicensed firearms (my guess, drug related like in "The Wire").

Yes, "Wow" indeed.

Correction: that was in the past by several years now.
Big Nanny. Mordor and Little Mordor.

Any consequences for you personally of the Baltimore shootings?

Good to hear you're OK.
Thanks. Things could be worse. We could be in Paris. ;)
